15 Consumer confidence dipped in October but remains relatively high. This is despite the prolonged uncertainty in the market from election until the new Government was announced on 19 October. Confidence fell in Auckland to make it now the least optimistic region. The perception of economic outlook has also waned. November’s results will be of particular interest due to being the first survey post the new Government being announced. The gap in confidence between Australia and NZ grew wider in the last quarter reflecting the stronger economic outlook here.
