Most Lower North Island centres are showing minimal pain in the last quarter apart from Whanganui which has consistently had a greater proportion of losses over the past three years. New Plymouth has seen the greatest total gain though – over $53m from sales in Q1 2017. Whanganui experienced the highest total loss, although Napier’s median loss is the highest of the five localities. The median and total loss in Palmerston North has been very minimal.
