19 Nationwide Values Average Value of Housing Stock - New Zealand Annual and Quarterly Change in Value Nationwide values rose again last month according to the QV house price index. This was mostly due to increases in the provincial and rural centres, especially in the North Island. The previous rates of value increase that we experienced in the past two years have eased right across the country though. It is unlikely that values will rebound again in the same way that we have seen in response to previous rounds of lending restrictions imposed by the Reserve Bank. Nationwide weakness is more likely to continue until after the election in September when it will become clear what policies on migration, housing supply, housing investment, and affordability have won through.
