33 Overall Auckland values continue to drop ever so slightly. This varies across Auckland, as the fringe areas of Rodney, Papakura and Franklin are still increasing in value, just at a slower rate than previously. North Shore and Waitakere continue to drop in value while central Auckland and Manukau are more or less flat. The continuing drop in demand combined with significantly more listings should mean we see these trends continue in the short term. The longer term will be significantly impacted by whatever policy changes, if any, are introduced by the new Government. Rising population combined with a slow rate of house construction will conspire against any significant drops in value.
